We are a shanty-singing, swordfighting, dramatic band comprising buccaneers, corsairs and ne'er-do-well piratical presentationists of the 18th century variety. Our port is Charlestown, Cornwall, near England. We raise money for various charities including the RNLI, Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust and Children's Hospice South West.
Everything we do is inspired by Cornwall's maritime heritage combined with our love of music, swashbuckling performances and the thrill of making people smile.
We frequently perform at shanty festivals and other public events such as the Fowey Regatta, the Newquay Fish Festival and the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival. In between, this non-profit organisation is hired for private events such as weddings, birthday parties and funerals.
The Pirates have appeared in the press, on TV programmes, in pop videos and on radio broadcasts. Our reach is far and wide, stretching even as far abroad as Plymouth. Keep an eye on our Events listing to see where you might catch us next, savvy?
Some of our crew visit schools to teach children about piratical life, habits, weaponry and costume. Sometimes we even bring a few cannons to make the day go with a bang.
Oh, and did you know it's good luck to have a pirate at your Cornish wedding? Think what a charmed life having an assortment of Pirates dancing and singing at your party could provide...

Terms and Conditions
There are one or two conditions which we must emphasize as they may limit what we can offer for your event
1. If you require us to swordfight we require a minimum area of at least 30x30 feet. This area must be reasonably flat and free from trip hazards and obstacles such as trees and shrubs. This area must also be double roped to prevent access by the public, especially children. We can provide posts and ropes if necessary. These restrictions are essential to ensure that that sword fighting takes place in a safe and secure environment and that the public are not put at any risk. If such an area is not available we will not be able to perform any form of combat display as this will invalidate our public liability insurance.
2. We can perform either indoors or outdoors, however if it is raining at an event or it has been raining and the surface is slippery we will not be able to perform any sword fighting. This is because we use real swords and fighting with this kind of weapon is extremely dangerous on wet slippery surfaces.
3. Also for outdoor events we shall not be able to do any shanty singing if it is raining, this is because we use extremely expensive instruments, costumes and equipment which may be damaged by prolonged exposure to moisture. We are more than happy to perform under pagodas and marquee’s if these facilities are made available.
4. We will at all times endeavour to perform to the best of our abilities and do all we can to make your event a success, but we reserve the right to refuse any requests that might endanger ourselves or members of the public or may invalidate our personal or public liability insurances.
