Erasmus Lungbarrow An impeccably mannered man who relies on his skill with a blade alone, Erasmus Lungbarrow refuses to use a pistol deeming them too clumsy and random, but carries one just to be on the safe side. Very little is known of his life before turning to piracy but this much is clear: Lungbarrow was forced in to serving his country as a matter of family tradition. After years of service and lack of a promotion he faked his own death and made off with a small fortune with which he acquired a small, yet powerful, ship 'The Oncoming Storm'. Erasmus Lungbarrow manned the ship single-handed, though rumours of his travels have indicated he occasionally sailed with a companion or two. His time at sea had seen him face impossible odds and look death in the eye on more occasions that he cares to remember. One fateful voyage saw him caught in a fierce battle between a band of Pirates and the King's Navy, Lungbarrow emerged from the wreckage, the sole survivor, adrift the remnants of his beloved ship 'The Oncoming Storm'. Drifting for weeks at sea he eventually washed ashore in Plymouth, where he spent the better part of two years in a rum soaked state before running into a small band of Pirates at a particularly notorious den of iniquity. This encounter left a mark on Lungbarrow and gave him a new lease of life. So after sobering up Lungbarrow tracked them and offered them his services were they ever needed. After that Erasmus Lungbarrow departed after commandeering a ship (re-christened 'The Bad Wolf') but vowed to return. No sooner had he left when word reached him that Red Coats were after his new Pirate family. Turning around he sailed, with a small crew, to the Cornish village where the Pirates was rumoured to be hiding. After playing his part and partaking of more than his fair share of rum Lungbarrow & his crew set sail again to chase that horizon. Due to his nature (& the price on his head) Erasmus Lungbarrow never stays in Cornwall for too long. But is always welcomed back by the crew whenever he makes port. |
