At the age of 2o Gracie married the only son of the family who owned the local manor house on a huge estate. Gracie soon got bored of playing 'Lady of the Manor' and found her excitement in the form of the gardener, Ben. One day, after a particularly passionate embrace, Gracie lifted Ben's grandfathers pocket watch and kept it for herself, after all Gracie was a bit partial to all things shiny.

Upon discovering that Gracie had taken his grandfather's pocket watch, his prized possession, Ben was furious and threatened Gracie that he would tell her husband if it wasn't returned. Gracie didn't think for one minute that Ben would spill the beans, as he would surely lose his job. Ben however, wasn't in the mood for games and went with cap in hand to his master and told all.

Gracie's husband gave her 24 hours to leave the house, which she did....... taking the entire contents of the family safe with her and fled to Cornwall. Once in Cornwall Gracie lay low in a small cottage near a fishing harbour, she did not mix with the locals for fear of being turned in. Gracie was lacking excitement and adventure in her life, so one dark evening took herself off to The Mermaid Inn, an Inn that the villagers seemed to avoid.

Once inside the Inn Gracie found her excitement and adventure in a band of Pirates and thrived to live a life like theirs. The Pirates soon welcomed Gracie when they discovered her fantastic skills at pick pocketing and lifting small, shiny, expensive items. From that day on Gracie has never looked back and gets all the excitement and adventure she has ever hoped for (and more!).
