'Jack Dawe joined the British Navy as a young man on a Pirate Hunter and progressed up the ranks to become Master Gunner at the port deck.  On the ship he became buddies with Smilin' Map Kernow.  There were a lot of trials and tribulations aboard this ship so Jack, Map and another mate by the name of No Parrot Pete escaped and captured a little skip.  From there the 3 worked their way up to a forth rate frigate. where they attacked and boarded the Pirate hunter from where they had originally escaped. They wasted no time at all in extracting just revenge for past injustices.

Some months later they found themselves shipwrecked in a storm just off the coast of Cornwall. Jack managed to make it ashore reasonably intact. There then followed a long weekend in port mourning the loss of his ship by partakin' of some serious drinkin' an carousin' and wenchin' in the Mermaid Inn, When Monday morning came around Jack awoke to find himself at sea on board a strange ship with the Pirates of St. Piran. Presented with the stark choice of either joining the crew or having to swim ashore, yet again, he joined up and has sailed with the the St. Piran crew ever since.

Jack Dawe is a salty sea dog and one of the stalward embers of the pirate crew.  He is a quiet man (but is happy to let his sword do the talking for him) and it is easy to see that there is a long and eventful history behind his easy smile and twinkling eyes.'
