Born aboard a pirate ship after her mother was captured and forced to become a pirate captains woman, the pirate captain allowed Mary to live aboard believing he was her father.
From the age of 10 Mary honed her fighting skills in order to ward off the unwelcome attentions of the crew and at the age of eighteen she lost her mother and Pirate father figure in a vicious sea battle with rival pirates.
As a captive she was soon at the mercy of the enemy pirates until she used her persuasive ways to gain the interest and protection of the captain, she lived and worked happily at sea for the next 30years alongside her fellow pirates until her ship was sunk in a sea battle against a far superior Naval vessel hell bent on the destruction of all pirates.
Mary miraculously survived and swam ashore making her living as best she can working in the Mermaids tail Tavern for Lady Rose Wylde until she can persuade another ship to take her on. Which may take some time as she always insists on being accompanied by her constant companion Nora, who is a large black rat.
