The Reverend Edward ‘Eddie’ Bawden
Born and bred in Gwithian of a Smuggling family that used the cover of the Church to trade goods and alcohol throughout St Ives, Hayle and Penzance. He eventually moved North to Bodmin Moor following an altercation with the excise men which resulted in the arrest of his brother.
Using the guise of a Vicar enabled easy and unhindered access to the Taverns and inns in an attempt to convert those of ill repute and low regard, he continued to build links with the Pirates and Wreckers trading rum and contraband across North Cornwall and the drinking houses on the Moor.
Eventually seeking greater riches and excitement he joined a group of Pirates based in Charlestown… and the rest as they say.. has yet to be written..
